Former Our Perfect Wedding (OPW) presenter Kayise Ngqula has joined BET_Africa’s Isono (The Sin) telenovela. Kayise joins the Clive Morris Productions soapie and will be playing the role of Nelisiwe, a woman who comes to the House of Grace together with her husband, seeking to adopt a child.

Speaking on her new role, Kayise Ngqula wrote on photo-sharing platform Instagram,

So grateful for the opportunities coming my way… for a girl whose who had to rebuild from scratch, I’d say I’m not doing too badly. God definitely has me at the top of his priority list!!

Kayise’s new role as Nelisiwe on the soapie is a great win for the media personality who has had it really tough in the last few years. In 2019, the vivacious actress suffered a tragedy when her husband Farai Sibanda died after sustaining injuries in a terrible car accident. Sibanda was in ICU for almost a week before he succumbed to his injuries. He had been travelling with Kayise when the accident occured.

At the time of Sibanda’s death, the couple had a baby who was just eight months old and had been married for less than two years.

Unfortunately, worse was to come for the former Our Perfect Wedding presenter. Within months of Sibanda’s death, Kayise was entangled in a bitter dispute with her brother-in-law and two of her late husband’s baby mamas over his assets.

The dispute was so heated that Kayise filed an application for a protection order against her late husband’s brother Tawanda Sibanda at the Randburg magistrate’s court claiming that he was harassing her and was also a danger to her life.

We are happy for Kayise’s new role on Isono and we wish her well going forwards.
